About the bank
The National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan (NBU, Uzmilliybank JSC) was established by presidential decree in September 1991 and entered in the Central Bank register on 25 October 1991. Under resolution PP-4540 of 30 November 2019 the unitary enterprise was transformed into a joint-stock company. Its shareholders are the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan (59.25%) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance (40.75%), so the bank is fully state-controlled.
