In brief
Trains are the easiest way between Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Karshi and other big cities. The high-speed Afrosiyob links Tashkent with Samarkand and Bukhara. Tickets are sold at eticket.railway.uz and at station ticket offices; buy ahead for weekends and the high season.
For Nukus, Urgench (Khiva), Termez or the Fergana Valley, domestic flights save a lot of time. Tashkent has regular flights to many regional capitals — check the live board for times.
Intercity and international buses leave from bus stations. Shared intercity taxis wait near bus stations and bazaars and leave once full — agree on the fare before you set off.
Tashkent has a metro, buses and minibuses; pay with an ATTO card, a bank card or a QR ticket. Other cities rely on buses, minibuses and taxi apps.
Timetables change: always double-check with the official source before you travel. Each timetable lists its source and the date it was checked.
