Terminal and flights
The new passenger terminal opened on 18 March 2022, the first flight handled being Uzbekistan Airways HY 045/046 from Tashkent. It has 29 check-in desks, eight gates and four jet bridges; departing passengers have 10 passport-control booths and six e-gates, arriving passengers 15 booths. Capacity is up to 1,000 passengers an hour.
The terminal is run by Air Marakanda, and the live board on this site is built from its official data (samarkandairport.com).
Getting to town
Registan Square is about 6 km away by road.
Buses 52, 31 and M1 run daily from 6:00 to 21:00 from the central bus station and Samarkand railway station to the airport, taking about 15 minutes; the stop is in front of the terminal (per English Wikipedia).
Only public transport and taxis may enter the forecourt in front of the terminal, and stays longer than 15 minutes are charged.
