About the bank
Uzum Bank JSC was established on 1 November 2021 as Bank Apelsin JSC and took its current name on 28 November 2022; the current licence is No. 88 of 20 January 2026. The bank grew out of the Apelsin mobile app, which had operated since 2020 as the digital arm of Kapitalbank JSCB; according to the website the bank has a single corporate shareholder (a 2023 notice names Kapitalbank JSCB as the sole shareholder). The bank is part of the Uzum digital ecosystem (Uzum Market, Uzum Nasiya), and the Central Bank lists it among private banks. Its head office is in Tashkent’s Yakkasaray district on Shota Rustaveli Street.
Uzum Bank is fully digital: the website stresses that there will be no branches, and all services are delivered through the Uzum Bank mobile app. Customers can open Uzcard, Humo and Visa cards in the app and use deposits in soums and foreign currency, online microloans to a card, utility and other payments, card-to-card and account transfers, Humo Pay contactless payments, and rail and event tickets. A line for legal entities is shown on the website as a project in preparation.
