About the bank
Ziraat Bank Uzbekistan was founded in 1993 as UTBANK (Uzbekistan–Turkey Bank) with capital from Turkey's Ziraat Bankası and Uzbekistan's Agrobank; the bank describes itself as the country's first commercial bank set up with foreign investment. On 30 November 2017 Ziraat Bankası bought Agrobank's 50% stake, became the sole shareholder and gave the bank its current name. Its sole owner is Turkey's state-owned T.C. Ziraat Bankası A.Ş.
For companies the bank provides loans, factoring, bank guarantees and foreign-trade services; for individuals it offers soum and US dollar deposits, mortgages, car loans, consumer loans and microloans. It issues Uzcard, Humo, co-badged Uzcard–Mastercard and Visa cards. In Tashkent there are the head office (15ABV Bunyodkor Street, which also houses the Operations Department), the Yunusabad office and a corporate service office; offices in Samarkand, Fergana, Andijan and Bukhara opened between 2020 and 2023.
For travellers
Currency exchange desks operate at the Operations Department in Tashkent and at the Yunusabad and Samarkand offices. Individuals can send or receive foreign-currency transfers abroad via SWIFT at any office without opening an account, on presentation of an ID; Western Union, Zolotaya Korona and MoneyGram services were discontinued on 16 November 2022. Deposit, mortgage and car-loan terms explicitly cover non-residents as well. The Ziraat Bank Mobile Uzbekistan app is available for iOS and Android.
