About
The Ministry of Justice shapes the state’s legal policy: it reviews draft laws, registers the regulations of ministries and agencies, and promotes legal literacy. The ministry of independent Uzbekistan was established by decree on 8 January 1992.
Since 2022 the Public Services Agency and the Intellectual Property Agency have been merged directly into the ministry, so the one-stop Public Service Centres in every city and district operate within the justice system. The ministry also regulates notaries, the bar, civil registry offices, and the registration of legal entities and non-governmental organisations.
Regional justice departments and district justice offices work across the country. The hotline is 1008; the head office is in Tashkent on Sayilgoh Street.
