The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction was formed in 2023 from the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations and the Ministry for Mahalla and Family Support. It implements state policy on the labour market, employment and support for low-income families.
Citizens deal with the ministry through district employment assistance centres: registration as unemployed, vacancies, vocational training, unemployment benefit, public works and self-employment. Vacancies are listed on the ish.mehnat.uz portal. Labour migration matters for those wishing to work abroad are handled together with the Migration Agency.
Each region has a territorial department of the ministry. The head office is in Tashkent on Nukus Street.
