About

The Constitutional Court hears cases on whether acts of the legislative and executive branches comply with the Constitution. The court has operated since 1995; the Constitution renewed in 2023 gave citizens the right to file a direct constitutional complaint against a law that violates their rights — an important change in the court’s work.

The court gives official interpretations of constitutional provisions, considers referrals from courts on constitutional questions and reviews the constitutionality of international treaties. Its decisions are final and binding throughout the country.

The court is housed on Islam Karimov Street in Tashkent; the procedure for applications and the court’s decisions are published at konstsud.uz.
