About

The Committee on Interethnic Relations and Compatriots Abroad was established by Decree PF-52 of 19 March 2025 as an independent national body, succeeding the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Ministry of Culture.

More than 130 ethnic groups live in Uzbekistan; the committee fosters harmony through national cultural centres, friendship societies and people-to-people diplomacy. Its second focus is the Uzbek diaspora and compatriots abroad: cultural events, education programmes and support for those returning home.

The committee is housed on Bobur Street in Tashkent and has regional offices.
