About
The Legislative Chamber is the lower house of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and has operated since 2005. Its 150 deputies are elected for five years; since the 2024 election a mixed system applies — half from single-member constituencies and half from party lists. The chamber drafts and adopts laws, approves the state budget, considers the nomination of the Prime Minister and exercises parliamentary oversight of ministries.
Citizens can reach deputies at constituency receptions or through the chamber’s website and Telegram channel; draft laws are put to public consultation at regulation.gov.uz.
The chamber’s building stands on Bunyodkor Avenue in Tashkent next to the National Park; the nearest metro station is Milliy Bog.
