About
The Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services was formed on 1 January 2023 from the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services. It approves building codes and urban planning documents, organises design review, and regulates drinking water, sewerage, heating and the management of apartment blocks.
Residents mainly contact the ministry’s system about utilities — water, heating, maintenance of housing; the hotline is 1298. Supervision of construction and utilities is carried out by a separate inspectorate under the Cabinet of Ministers.
The ministry is based in an administrative building in New Tashkent; regional construction and utilities departments work across the country.
