About

The Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights is an independent national body with special status, created on 1 January 2023 from the former Antimonopoly Committee. It detects anti-competitive agreements and abuse of dominance, supervises natural monopolies and advertising, and issues competition opinions when state property is privatised.

For the public its key role is consumer protection: in case of defective goods, poor service or deception you can contact the committee’s regional department or the hotline 1159. This applies to tourists too — disputes in shops and service outlets fall within its remit.

The head office is in Tashkent on Labzak Street; every region has a territorial department.

Phone numbers and hours can change — call ahead before you visit.
