About
The Ministry of Education and Science was established by Presidential Decree PF-213 of 3 October 2026, merging the Ministry of Preschool and School Education with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation. The minister also serves as First Deputy Prime Minister. The new ministry covers every stage of lifelong learning — pre-school, general secondary and specialised secondary, vocational, higher and postgraduate education, retraining — as well as science.
The Agency for Specialised Educational Institutions, the Vocational Education Agency, the Innovative Development Agency and the Agency for Assessment of Knowledge and Qualifications (university entrance tests) operate under it. Regional and district education departments work across the country.
The hotline is 1006; the head office is in Tashkent on Universitet Street, in the former Ministry of Higher Education building.
