About

The Customs Committee heads the state customs service of Uzbekistan. In 2023 the former State Customs Committee became the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance; it has the status of a militarised law-enforcement body. In August 2026 the “New Uzbekistan Customs 2030” strategy was approved.

Travellers meet customs at airports and border posts: goods for personal use are duty-free within set allowances, cash above the threshold must be declared, and special rules apply to cultural valuables and medicines. The current limits are published at customs.uz.

The system includes the customs departments of Karakalpakstan, the regions and Tashkent City, the Tashkent-AERO specialised complex and the customs posts. The head office is in Tashkent on Islam Karimov Street.
