About
The Ministry of Economy and Finance was formed on 1 January 2023 from the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction. It drafts the state budget and oversees its execution, and is responsible for macroeconomic forecasts, fiscal policy, public debt and state investment programmes.
The Customs Committee, the Treasury Service Committee, the State Reserves Management Committee, the State Assay Inspectorate and the off-budget Pension Fund operate under the ministry. The services citizens need most — pensions and benefits (Pension Fund) and customs clearance (Customs Committee) — are provided within this system.
