About
The Civil Aviation Agency (Uzaviation) was created in 2019 when the national carrier Uzbekistan Airways was restructured and regulatory functions were separated from the airline. The agency operates under the Ministry of Transport and is responsible for flight safety, aviation security, certification of airlines, airports and personnel, and aircraft registration.
For travellers the agency is the passenger-rights body: if a dispute with an airline over a delayed or cancelled flight or lost baggage is not resolved, the complaint goes to the agency. Drone photography requires a permit from the agency — unpermitted drones are confiscated at the border.
The agency is located on Nukus Street in Tashkent.
