About

The Ministry of Transport was established in 2019 and sets state policy for every mode of transport — road, rail, air, water and urban. It licenses carriers, approves intercity and international bus routes and defines transport safety requirements.

The Committee for Roads (road building and maintenance), the Civil Aviation Agency (oversight of airlines and airports) and the Transport Control Inspectorate operate under the ministry. Uzbekistan Railways and Uzbekistan Airways are separate companies, but sector policy is set through the ministry.

Passengers can raise service-quality issues via hotline 1167. Since 2025 the ministry has been based in a new administrative building in New Tashkent.

Phone numbers and hours can change — call ahead before you visit.
