About
The Hydrometeorological Service Agency (Uzhydromet) is the country’s national weather service. In 2023 it was reorganised as an agency from the Hydrometeorological Service Centre under the Cabinet of Ministers and now belongs to the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change. The agency conducts meteorological and hydrological observations, issues weather forecasts, warns of hazards such as mudflows, floods, drought and extreme heat, and monitors air pollution.
For travellers the official forecasts at meteo.uz are the main source when planning mountain hikes and desert routes; in winter the agency also issues avalanche warnings for the mountains.
The head office is on Bodomzor Yoli Street in Tashkent, with regional hydrometeorological departments and a network of stations across the country.
