A mountain district where ancient customs are still alive

A mineral spring in the Boysun mountains with a sanatorium; its water contains silicic acid, iron and other trace elements.
The Omonxona spring lies about 16 km from the centre of Boysun District in a mountain village surrounded by dense juniper. Its water contains silicic acid, iron, aluminium and other trace elements, and specialists consider it beneficial for liver and biliary complaints. Nearby is the small Omonxona cave, 3.5 m high and some 60 m² in area.
People come from all over the country for the water. A government decision of October 2014 transferred the Omonxona sanatorium to Uzbekistan Railways, and the spring water has been bottled since 2018. Besides the sanatorium there is a hotel and several family guesthouses.
