Bibi-Khanym Mosque
Timur's colossal Friday mosque
Hotel · Samarkand
A 16-room boutique hotel on a quiet old-town lane, with a traditional-style building, a terrace overlooking domes and minarets, and a buffet breakfast.
Altair is a small boutique hotel on quiet Chorrakha Street inside the old town, about 550 m from Bibi-Khanym Mosque, 600 m from Siyob Bazaar and 750 m from the Registan. Its motto is “old style, modern comfort”, and both the building and the rooms are decorated in traditional style.
All 16 rooms have access to a viewing terrace that looks out over the domes and minarets of the old town, and the morning buffet — fruit, pastries and Eastern dishes — is laid out up there too. The hotel arranges airport and station transfers as well as excursions around Samarkand and beyond. Rooms come with a kettle, tea and coffee and TV channels in several languages.
Information checked: October 2026. Prices and hours can change — call ahead before you go. We do not take bookings: contact the venue directly.
