Bibi-Khanym Mosque
Timur's colossal Friday mosque
Café · Samarkand
A café 75 m from the Bibi-Khanym Mosque serving Uzbek staples, a plov lunch set, espresso coffee and gentle jazz on the terrace.
Art Cafe is on Islam Karimov Street, about 75 m from the Bibi-Khanym Mosque and 300 m from Siab Bazaar. The open terrace, with relaxed music playing, is a pleasant place to rest between sights, and an enclosed winter terrace takes over in the cold months. There is an English menu.
The menu is short: plov, manti, samsa, soups, a fried-aubergine salad and a few European dishes. At lunchtime there is a set of plov, salad, bread and tea, which cost 45,000 som in early 2026. Espresso-machine coffee is served too.
Information checked: October 2026. Prices and hours can change — call ahead before you go. We do not take bookings: contact the venue directly.
