Plov centre · Samarkand
A small plov centre 250 m from the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis with nothing on the menu but Samarkand plov and salads. Lunch only, 11:00–14:00.
Otash Osh (also listed on maps as “Samarkand plov”) sits between the Bibi-Khanym Mausoleum and the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis — about 250 m from Shah-i-Zinda and 280 m from the mausoleum. Despite the sights next door, most of the diners are locals, and many people carry plov away on big platters.
Samarkand plov is the only main dish, with salads and yoghurt-based starters chosen from a tray. The plov is ready towards noon and the place closes at 14:00. One portion feeds two. Inside there is air conditioning, outside a few tables under an awning; there is no toilet on site.
Information checked: October 2026. Prices and hours can change — call ahead before you go. We do not take bookings: contact the venue directly.
