One of the go-to places for Jizzakh's famous somsa: tandoor-baked pastries and a summer courtyard with a fountain.
Jizzakh is known across Uzbekistan for its somsa, and Bogdon Street in the south-west of the city is lined with somsa houses. Qipchoq Somsa is one of the best known. The star is the meat somsa baked in a tandoor, served with tea, including a wild-herb kiyik tea.
In summer the inner courtyard with its fountain is a pleasant place to sit. Somsa is packed neatly to take away — some customers carry it all the way to Tashkent still warm.
Information checked: October 2026. Prices and hours can change — call ahead before you go. We do not take bookings: contact the venue directly.
