Events
A celebration of Khorezm melons: a melon fair with pavilions from every town and district, competitions, folk ensembles and concerts.
Khorezm is one of Uzbekistan’s most famous melon-growing regions, and Qovun sayli celebrates the fact. The 2026 festival was scheduled for 7–9 August at the Arda Khiva complex, organised by the Tourism Committee and the Khorezm regional administration, with each town and district showing its own melons in a decorated pavilion.
The programme includes an opening ceremony, the melon exhibition, competitions and performances by folk ensembles, pop stars and dance groups, with prizes for the most active participants. August is peak melon season, so taste plenty at the fair and buy one or two at the bazaar.
