Mosque · Gulistan
Gulistan’s largest mosque, with four minarets and a dome: founded in 1905 and rebuilt by community labour in 2007–2009.
The Friday mosque of Gulistan was founded in 1905. It was closed in 1926 and reopened in 1947. The present building was reconstructed by community labour (hashar) in 2007–2009, when the grounds were enlarged and an ablution hall, khanaqah and offices were added. A new ablution hall and a refreshed interior followed in 2021–2023.
The mosque covers 4,800 m² and has four minarets and a single dome. The main hall holds 2,000 worshippers, and with the veranda and annexes more than 3,000; it is the largest mosque in the city.
