Museum · Zomin District
A museum in Zomin town, housed in the 1909 officers' assembly building of the Russian garrison, with finds from the 3rd century BC to the early 20th century.
Founded by a regional decision on 12 November 1993, the museum opened on 18 May 1994, International Museum Day; its first director was the local historian Sattor Qoraboyev. The building went up in 1909 as the officers' assembly of the Russian imperial garrison and later served as a hospital, shop, office and maternity ward before being rebuilt in 2013.
The collection includes pottery, weapons and bones from sites such as Mozortepa, Koltepa and Jartepa, plus clothing and everyday objects of the people who lived in the Zomin mountains in the 18th and 19th centuries.
