An Orthodox church of 1903–1904 in Botkin Cemetery — the only one in Tashkent, and in all Central Asia, that stayed open throughout the Soviet era.
The church was founded on 23 November 1902 and built in 1903–1904 with funds from the military administration of the Turkestan region, to a design by engineer Alexander Burmeister. The largest donation came from the merchant Nikolai Ivanov, who paid for its finely carved, gilded wooden iconostasis.
It is the only church in Tashkent and all of Central Asia that was never closed in Soviet times, though from 1922 to 1945 it was held by the Renovationists. It stands in City Cemetery No. 1, known as Botkin Cemetery.
