A 15-room family hotel in a quiet residential area of the new city, with a courtyard of pomegranates and vines, an outdoor pool, home-style breakfasts and plov classes on request.
Latif is a family-run hotel on Kattakurgan Street, in a residential mahalla in the newer part of Samarkand. The Registan is about 3.6 km away and University Boulevard 2.2 km, so a taxi is the easiest way to reach the monuments — the trade-off being peace and quiet and a generous courtyard.
Pomegranates, grapevines and other fruit trees grow in the yard around a clean outdoor pool, and breakfast can be taken out among the greenery. The family looks after guests as if they were relatives, and breakfast features home baking — pancakes, syrniki and more. On request they run cooking classes in plov and other Uzbek dishes.
The 15 rooms have air conditioning and TV, and there are family rooms. There is guarded parking, airport and station transfers can be arranged, and staff speak Russian, English and German. Especially well suited to families with children and anyone wanting to stay away from the city bustle.
