A khanqah built at the end of the 16th century by the Sufi Mavlono Poyanda Muhammad Akhsi Fayzabadi in Fayzabad, once a suburb of Bukhara.
The khanqah was founded at the end of the 16th century, under the Shaybanids, by the Sufi Mavlono Poyanda Muhammad Akhsi (Akhsikati) Fayzabadi in what was then the suburb of Fayzabad. Khanqahs were built for dervishes to live, worship and gather in, and this was just such a lodge.
Its large hall is covered by a dome on pendentives. Cells for residents run along the sides of the hall as a single-storey domed gallery, with more cells in the corners of the main piers and behind the mihrab. Few tourists make it out here, but it is a well-preserved example of a 16th-century khanqah.
