About the festival
Since 2022 the Lazgi International Dance Festival has been held in Khiva every two years on 25–30 April, organised by the Ministry of Culture and the Khorezm regional administration. The programme includes an international academic conference, an international dance competition, round tables and masterclasses with foreign experts, and concerts and exhibitions devoted to Khorezm dance.
The third edition took place on 25–30 April 2026 under UNESCO patronage, with more than 300 dancers and specialists from over 30 countries. During the festival Itchan Kala’s streets fill with music and dancing — the liveliest time to visit Khiva.
