Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum
A mysterious building over the Prophet Job's spring
Fortress · Bukhara city
Built in the second half of the 16th century under Abdullah Khan II, the Talipach is one of only two well-preserved gates out of the eleven Bukhara once had.
The gate was cut into the western stretch of the city wall under the Shaybanid Abdullah Khan II. It was one of two gates on the road towards Romitan and Khorezm, and the Shakhrud canal, the city's main waterway, left town close by.
It was restored in 1960 by A. Salomov and M. Mubinov and again in 2005 by S. Karimov. It stands in the Khoja Gunjari quarter near the central bazaar and the Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum, on the edge of Samanid Park, with fragments of the old city wall alongside.
