Tohir & Zuhra is a no-frills Uzbek café in a small square about 100 m from the old town’s north gate. Tables and topchans sit in the shade of the trees, so it stays cool at lunchtime, and locals and visitors eat side by side.
It is best known for carp: you pick your fish and it is cooked on the spot. Portions are big and prices fair.
