Labi Hovuz restaurant sits on the famous Lyab-i Hauz pool itself. Around a hundred tables are set out under old mulberry trees beside the water and the fountain, which keeps it cool even on hot days. In the evening, when the surrounding madrasahs are lit up, the poolside fills with people.
The menu is mostly Uzbek — plov, shashlik, shurpa and salads — with a few European dishes. It opens at 7 am, so it works for breakfast too. Prices are moderate and cards are accepted.
